Just Say Yes

I think about all the thousand ways I am in love with you, the way you laugh at everything even when you are overwhelmed with sadness, the way you wake up and smile at me as though we are long parted friends reunited, the way you curl your toes when you loung in your loose flowing dresses, the way you always listen when I am happy,scared or anxious, the way you never judge me when I am not at my best, the way you will all the good things into the world, all of these fill me past the capacity of my cup and like an arching wave, crash against the shore and reach for you. The earthy bottom soaking all of it in, filling the sea again. I want to stay here in this moment for all eternity, savor every kiss, every salty tear, every touch. I want to breath in all of this, and fall back into a salt filled sea and let the waves roll under me. I can’t imagine ever loving anyone more, and yet I know that somehow, tomorrow, next month, next year I will love you more. I will stand more solidly on this shore with you, shielding you from the reaching fingers of the wind, my hand clasped firmly in yours, wondering at this sea of eternity before us. I will love you with every breath of my body. I cannot wait til I can stand before you and ask you the only question I can possibly ask you,because for me, there is only one reply to the question that is you, and that answer is, and always will be, an unwavering yes.
