We are here in the hospital, in just a few short hours my daughter will be here, in my arms. I will look into her scrunched pink face for the first time, I will hold my future in my arms and I know, I know I will be filled to overspilling with love.
3:45am: we woke to contractions and a pink tinge coating the morning toilet paper
430am: we are wolfing down scrambled eggs and cereal, taking last minute showers my brain swirling with all the little things
745am: The bright morning sunrise blinds is as we hurtle down the freeway, my veins abuzz with her summoning
2:35pm: The babies heart rate has had significant dips, the doctor break the water and the epidural is placed
645pm: They let us know a c-section might be needed but we keep vigilant watch as dilation occurs 4-5cm
945pm: 8-9cm! I can’t help but wonder how this next phase will go!
Here we go! Onto summing baby L to join us so that we may learn, love, and cherish each other as we work to define our family!
