Whoa, What Did I Do?

I have entered and entirely new culture. One that has new rules and new viewpoints on life. Its called Potter's World. No, not in the Harry Potter sense, there are no hairy potter's here. Well, ok maybe there are but that's not the point.

I am sitting at the potter's wheel, clay sliding through my hands as smooth and soft as anything you have ever felt. I am in my own world, the place I go to when I am creating, its nice there. I have music that I am barely listening to blasting in my ears as my foot races to the temp of the music sending the wheel spinning in continuous spiraling circles. I am in my happy space, no worries, well apart from fearing that the teapot I am making will turn out to resemble something a tractor rolled over and then little kids stuck their tiny little fingers in it while flinging it about the room. As I spin the wheel and concentrate on not pressing too hard against the side of the teapot I begin to feel uneasy.

Why do I feel as though I am on fire, not the energized, I am doing amazing fire either?

I slow the wheel as my heart begins to pound in my chest and I feel like holes are being drilled into every part of me. Surreptitiously I look up through my lashes to see what the hell is going on. Ten people are watching me and I have no clue why. I check the volume on my ipod wondering if maybe its a little to loud, nope that's not it. Only I can hear my music. I look at the floor around me, no mess. I can't figure out why they are looking at me. I look at my teapot and its till resembles a teapot, its not flinging clay halfway across the room, its not even that wet. The are still staring and I still have no idea why. I think maybe I am being a bit pompous in assuming they are staring at me, duh, Nena the world doesn't revolve around you! I look behind me and to my surprise there is nothing worth keeping ten potter's attention. Sighing I look one of them straight in the eyes and apparently this is a no no in Potter's World because I get this weird look and as though they never even notice my presence everyone goes back to what they were doing and I am left sitting there bewildered as hell watching my lump of clay spin in circles. Strangely I feel guilty, as a child does when they are caught eating a cookie before dinner or something.

I still don't know what I did if I indeed did do anything at all.

What a strange group of people.

I guess teapots that resemble warbled versions of their cousins are not permitted in the realm of the Ceramics Lab.

Maybe they're just jealous you can make teapots and they can't.
